Center Valley, Pa. - Lehigh's Gwen Dwyer was tabbed the 2007 Patriot League Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was one of 30 student-athletes named to the 2007 Patriot League Women's Tennis Academic Honor Roll, announced Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich Tuesday. Dwyer was one of three student-athletes to achieve a 4.0 grade-point average in the spring along with Holy Cross' Natalie Lin and Lehigh's Francesca Murasko-Blank.

Dwyer, an English major, owns a 3.55 cumulative grade-point average and is a four-time Patriot League Women's Tennis Academic Honor Roll selection. She was a member of this year's Lehigh women's tennis squad that posted the highest team grade-point average in program history.

The Mountain Hawk co-captain went 10-9 at No. 1 singles during the spring season of her senior year. She earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors for the third-straight year.

This year marks the first time Lehigh has captured the Patriot League Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.

A total of 989 student-athletes were named to the Patriot League's Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, which includes the sports of men and women's basketball, men and women's swimming and diving, men and women's indoor track and field, baseball, golf, men and women's lacrosse, rowing, men and women's outdoor track and field, softball and men and women's tennis.
