2007 Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll

Center Valley, Pa. - Lafayette's James Conrad was tabbed the 2007 Patriot League Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was one of 51 student-athletes named to the 2007 Patriot League Baseball Academic Honor Roll, announced Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich Thursday. Also included on this year's list were Army's Tyler Anderegg and Holy Cross' Andrew Tenaglia who achieved a 4.0 grade-point average or better during the spring semester.
Conrad graduated from Lafayette with a degree in mathematics and a 3.58 cumulative grade-point average. The three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member was named an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American on the third team at the conclusion of the 2007 season. He was a member of both Sigma Xi, a national research honor society, and Pi Mu Epsilon, a mathematics honor society.
As a member of the 2007 Patriot League Baseball Championship team from Lafayette, Conrad ranked first in the Patriot League in runs (67), hits (75) and stolen bases (49) and second in batting average (.369). The First-Team All-Patriot League centerfielder ended his career third all-time in the Patriot League record books with 85 career stolen bases and closed out the season third in the nation in stolen bases per game. He earned two all-tournament team spots this season one at the Patriot League Championship and one at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional.
Conrad is the third Leopard to win the Patriot League Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, joining Bob Osipower (1999) and Tye Gonser (2002).
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.
A total of 989 student-athletes were named to the Patriot League's Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, which includes the sports of men and women's basketball, men and women's swimming and diving, men and women's indoor track and field, baseball, golf, men and women's lacrosse, rowing, men and women's outdoor track and field, softball and men and women's tennis.
