Bucknell golf team finished play at the 54-hole NCAA West Regional with a three-day score of 893, after posting a seven over 295 Saturday, its best round of the tournament. Overall, the Bison finished 26th in the tournament. The NCAA West Regional was played at ASU's Karsten Golf Course (par-72, 7,057 yards) in Tempe, Ariz.
Four-time All-Patriot League golfer Charlie Waddell posted a third-round score of one over par 73 and finished at one over par 217 (71-73-73). The 2005 and 2006 Patriot League Golfer of the Year, Waddell carded five birdies during Saturday's play to finish in a tie for 86th.
Andrew Cohen, the 2007 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, finished the tournament with a score of five over 221 (73-78-70) following Saturday's round of two under par 70.
Other Bison golfers who participated at the NCAA West Regional included Brian Bartow (79-72-73-224), Kyle Moran (74-76-79-229) and Keith Aoki (87-76-80-243). Cohen earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors with his fourth-place tie at the Patriot League Championship, while Aoki received Second-Team All-Patriot League acclaim following his tie for sixth place.
South Carolina won the team title with a 54-hole score of 44 under par 820, while Benjamin Alvarado of Arizona State won individual honors with a score of 18 under par 198. The top 10 teams in the field of 27 qualified for the NCAA Championship, which starts May 30, in Williamsburg, Va.
