Center Valley, Pa. - American's Krystn Hodge was named the 2007 Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is one of 89 student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich Thursday. Seven student-athletes achieved at least a 4.00 GPA for the fall academic term, Army's Elizabeth Betterbed, Sarah Goss and Caroline Miller, Colgate's Johanna Johnson, Lehigh's Andrea Yetter, and Navy's Lizzie Barnes and Kari Weniger.

Hodge, a psychology major with a 3.70 cumulative grade-point average, was a member of the 2006 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in her first season of competition. The junior from Rye, N.Y. became a member of the team in 2006 as a walk-on.

Hodge had a breakout season for the Eagles in 2007, ranking second on the team in scoring with 22 points. She tallied nine goals and a team-high four assists. She played in all 19 games during the season for the Eagles, and ranked in the top-five in the Patriot League this season for points (22), points per game (1.29), goals (9), goals per game (0.53), assists (7) and game-winning goals (5). The junior was a key offensive component on an American team that finished the regular season with an undefeated League record of 4-0-3.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
