Four Patriot League softball student-athletes were named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine All-District Academic Teams. Lehigh placed three on the list, including Kate Marvel, Megan Conrad and Lisa Sweeney, while Bucknell's Erin Curatola was also recognized.
Marvel is a religion studies major with a 3.75 cumulative grade-point average. The senior centerfielder became a four-time First-Team All-Patriot League selection this season. Conrad holds a 3.85 GPA as a chemistry major. Conrad has hit .319 over her senior campaign so far as she is currently competing as the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament with her fellow Mountain Hawks. Sweeney is a history major and owns a 3.79 GPA. She was named both the Patriot League Player and Pitcher of the Year for 2008 and as a junior earned her third-straight First-Team All-Patriot League recognition as a pitcher and a second-team nod as an outfielder.
Curatola is senior on the Bison squad with a 3.37 cumulative grade-point average as a mathematics major. The senior designated player copped Second-Team All-Patriot League Team honors this season. Bucknell is currently playing in the Patriot League Softball Tournament as the No. 3 seed.
All four of the Patriot League's honorees will appear on the national ballot as finalists to be named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Americans.
